28. Independence of the United States

The Independence of the United States had its roots in the Treaty of Paris in 1763, which ended the Seven Years' War. At the end of the conflict, the territory of Canada was incorporated by England. In this context, the thirteen colonies began to be followed and increasing conflicts with the English metropolis, therefore, given the huge spending on the war, the city increased the exploration of these areas.
Apart from excessive taxation, the British in 1765 banned the opening of manufacturing establishments in the colonies and the addition of new production taxes on the manufacture of paints, glass, paper and mainly tea. In 1773, because of high taxes, the uprising took place in Boston tea.
In Philadelphia on September 5, 1774, met the representatives of the thirteen colonies in the so-called First Continental Congress. This meeting was drafted a declaration of rights and demanded the return to the previous situation. The British Parliament did not accept the claims of the colony, thus increasing the friction between the thirteen colonies and the central government, culminating in the outbreak of war in 1775.
During the conflict , the representatives of the colonies met in the second Congress of Philadelphia (1775), and Thomas Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence of the United States, enacted on July 4, 1776. Also proceed to the establishment of an army, whose command is entrusted to Farmer George Washington.
For the first time in the history of European expansion, a colony became independent countries by means of a revolutionary act. And it was not only proclaiming to the world, the historic document adopted on July 4, the right to independence and free choice of each people and each person, but still building a federation of states endowed with a large autonomy and adopting a political constitution, the first in world history where consign the individual rights of citizens, they defined the limits of the powers of the several states and the federal government, and established a system of balance between the legislative, judicial and executive powers being so prevent the supremacy of either, besides other innovative arrangements.
The war would end in 1783, when the United States independence was recognized by the United Kingdom under the Treaty of Paris of 1783. Despite the social structure has remained unchanged, the north and south continued capitalist slavery was maintained, the War of Independence of the United States is called a revolution by introducing, in the Constitution of 1787, in force until today, a federal republic, the sovereignty the nation, and tripartite division of powers. Moreover, influenced the liberal revolutions that happen in Europe, as the French Revolution.
